Who is Chris Sarandon, you ask?
Christopher “Chris” Chris Sarandon Jr., an American actor, is versatile and has played many characters from Jesus Christ to vampires. The ‘Academy Award’-nominated and ‘Golden Globe’ nominated actor is most well-known for his roles as ‘Prince Humperdinck’ and ‘Detective Mike Norris’ respectively in ‘The Princess Bride’. He also holds a master’s in theater. He made his professional acting debut in the play “The Rose Tattoo.” Later, he moved from West Virginia to New York where he was a TV actor and won ‘Golden Globe Award nominations for ‘Dog Day Afternoon. He continued to play a variety stage, television, and film roles. David-hasselhoff has been married three times. His classmate Susan Sarandon was his first wife, and Lisa Cooper was his second. Joanna Gleason is his current wife. He is the father of two daughters and one son.
Childhood and Early Life
Sarandon was born in Beckley, West Virginia on July 24, 1942 to parents of Greek descent, Cliffie (nee Cardullias), and Christopher Chris Sarandon. His parents owned a restaurant. John Peter Sarandon is his brother. His mother was born to a family of Greek immigrants living in Norfolk, Virginia. While his father was also born in Istanbul, Turkey, he is of Greek descent.
David choe was a student at the Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley. He was an early drummer and backup singer for the local band, “The Teen Tones.” They toured the country and performed for Gene Vincent and Bobby Darin.
He graduated in 1960 and enrolled at West Virginia University in 1964. In 1964, he studied speech. Chris Sarandon was a part of the university’s musical productions such as “The Music Man.” He later attended the “Catholic University of America” Washington, DC and earned his master’s in theater. He was part of the university’s “National Players” troupe, which traveled the country and presented plays.
Career
He worked in the early years of his career with various improvisational companies, and also participated in regional theatre. In 1961, he was a part of the outdoor drama “Honey in the Rock” at “Theatre West Virginia”. In 1965, he appeared in the play “The Rose Tattoo.” He also worked for one season with “The Long Wharf Theatre Company”.
In 1968, Chris Sarandon moved to New York City. His TV debut was quick with the role as ‘Dr. He played the role of ‘Dr. Tom Halverson’ on the series ‘The Guiding Light (1973-1974). His Broadway debut was with the role of Jacob Rothschild in 1970’s ‘The Rothschilds’. He then played the role of Proteus in ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona (1972). He was also a participant in the Shaw and Shakespeare festivals in America and the Stratford Festival in Canada.
Chris Sarandon was a TV star in 1974’s ‘The Satan Murders’ and Thursday’s Games’. He also received nominations for the Academy Award for the best supporting actor and the Golden Globe Award for the best acting debut in a motion picture.
He played a negative role on ‘Lipstick (1976) as well as a demon role on ‘The Sentinel (1977). Chris Sarandon later opted to play a variety characters and was the ‘Jesus Christ” in the TV movie The Day daniel cormier Died’ (1980). He was greatly appreciated for his role as ‘Sydney Carton” in the TV movie, ‘A Tale of Two Cities. His other films include ‘The Osterman Weekend (1983),’ ‘Protocol (1984), and ‘Fright Night (1985), which he played the role of a vampire.
